Khapli Wheat (Emmer Wheat)
Khapli wheat or Emmer wheat is long grain ancient wheat grown in Maharashtra and Karnataka. It is low in gluten, low in glycemic index, high in dietary fibers, satiety value and has higher concentration of antioxidants. It is high in fiber which can lower cholesterol, can ease digestion which can prevent constipation. It is also beneficial for celiac disease as it is low in gluten. Emmer wheat is a rich source of Vitamin B3, Vitamin E and high in minerals selenium, zinc and iron.
