Emmer Wheat Kheer

Daliya (broken emmer wheat) kheer is a delicious Indian dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth and help you build strength!

  • Kadai (Deep Pan)
  • 1 Cup Emmer Wheat (broken)
  • 1/2 Cup Bengal Gram Dal
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 2 Cups Jaggery
  • 3 Tbsp Ghee
  • 1 Tbsp Cardamom Powder
  • Raisins, Cashews, Black Raisins (As required)
  1. Soak emmer wheat and Bengal gram in water for 1 hour and pressure cook for 10 minutes.

  2. In a kadhai (deep pan), heat ghee and add raisins, cashews and black raisins.

  3. Add cooked emmer wheat and Bengal gram. Stir for 5 minutes and add milk.

  4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add jaggery and cardamom powder and turn off the flame.

  6. Your kheer is ready.
